A path to celebrating AND understanding the Jewish experience in the arts

SHVILIM (Hebrew for ‘paths’; pronounced SH-veel-eem) is a new initiative focused on enhancing the visibility of Jewish culture in Ontario's arts landscape while supporting greater understanding about anti-Jewish oppression.

SHVILIM represents our commitment to building real inclusion through multiple pathways. We aim to contribute to an inclusive, anti-racist Ontario arts sector that leaves no one behind and that celebrates the diversity of the Jewish experience through art.

SHVILIM strives to bring all Ontarians into relationship with Jewish creativity alongside the artistic expression of the province’s many diverse communities.

Our approach emphasizes forging paths of communal repair and creativity as well as building meaningful connections, shared understandings, and mutual support with allies across communities.

We believe that ending antisemitism is an integral step on the path to dismantling all forms of oppression embedded in our society.

We are pleased to share Bridging Worlds – a new and evolving resource for understanding antisemitism and its impacts, created by and for artists.

Nous sommes heureux de vous présenter Rapprocher les mondes, une nouvelle ressource évolutive conçue par et pour les artistes, visant à mieux comprendre l’antisémitisme et ses impacts.
